There is not a dearth of ambitious persons aspiring for the highest post of the land, thanks to Cory's constitution. Why are elective positions so appealing to Filipinos, despite the fact that these don't command higher "take home pay" compared to working with private entities? A catchy title isn't it? But 3 of 4 aspirants to the Presidency are intrinsically related, if not by blood, by business interests. ANTIDOTE TO PUNO IS SANTIAGO
Senator Santiago ranks high among senators and well-respected by fellow senators in that chamber. Senator Villar is looking for a prospective VP and Senator Santiago is not even mentioned as one of the probables.
