Hi Jessie!

Perhaps you are also aware about the roots of Sen. Manny Villar. From a fish vendor to one of the richest brown taipans. He was a Speaker of the House and Senate President. With his qualifications I believe he can lead our nation towards economic recovery. Those who will not vote for him despite his qualifications must have very high standard.

I think the press statement today of President-to-be Manny Villar about Mindanao, specifically about the high prices of rice and food stability is excellent. The call of Senator Villar to Malacanang to release allocated funds for Mindanao has long been the demand of the Mindanawans. Mindanao has been a vote rich island, and ARMM has been the site of cheating and violence in all past elections. The saying that "the dead and the birds voted in the elections" is true in this region. I hope Manny V. will not neglect and continue his advocacy for the development of Mindanao.

POVERTY - How to prevent inflation rate from going up, as price of oil and basic needs seems no ends.
CORRUPTION - Next leader of our nation should have political will to goes on all crooks in government.

For the past three decades since we re-established democratic political processes, we have seen leaders of varying styles come and go...and the same old problems remain. Such problems, like poverty, corruption in governance and business, degradation of our resources, and moral decay have become worse. Is leadership then a relevant issue here? Or is it the dysfunctional sociopolitical system to blame? Or is it really the economy...(stupid)? Or is it because of some deeper, perhaps spiritual-based, reason, whatever it is? Or are we simply a people accursed with a lack of character?

I think with all factors concerned, leadership still counts. Observing MB Villar, he comes across as different...nay, too laid-back if one were to judge by appearances. He is calm when others are raging passionately on the issues of the day; reflective when his fellow lawmakers seek out the media to grandstand over what ought to be but not doing anything to positively move things forward; and sober in the height of collective panic over things gone wrong, such as the Mindanao MOA conflict.

At this time and age, could these be the kind of traits of the leader that we need?

Everything matters. But, politics is a never ending roller coaster, a maze with no exit. It still will always be the same. Who can change it?

Hi Riza

Change for the better must begin with us. We can do it. Now!

perhaps the government should also include a policy on substance abuse and rehabilitation for government employees. damang-dama ko ang isyung yan dahil may kasama kami sa opisina na tipong lulong na sa pag-inom. kung minsan, nakaka-istorbo na sa trabaho lalo na't kung umiiral ang pagka lasengggo. sana..........

I think that the most paramount concern of today's forth-coming elections in our country is the Youth Sector. The empowerment of the Youth sector must be in the parameters of each presidentiables. And not be limited by such claims of eliminating Corruption, Red Tape...etc....here is my opinion regarding the focuses of this campaigning for Change.

Youth sector today is left behind by our government. Such attention is indeed needed for us the "future" of this nation must be truly the bearer of HOPE. (Education, Science and Tech among others)

Secondly, the Labor Sector...more works for the common man. extend the grasp of the government's "helping-hand".

Third, Family...the assurance of a peaceful and harmonious environment for the Filipino household.

And lastly, Our Security...(the AFP...must be truly & honestly modernized...)

We need more entrepreneurs...like Sen. Manny Villar!
...working hard, persistence, and perseverance became his guiding principles in life. This earned him the title “Mr. Sipag at Tiyaga.”
He continues to inspire Filipinos with his life story and encourages each and every kababayan to improve their quality of life and fulfill their dreams through the very values he believes in -- “sipag at tiyaga.”
...in my view our country needs a president whose a role model as an entrepreneur, we filipinos, specially expatriates whose hard earned money can be a driving force to make our country move forward in todays reality and that is to make more entrepreneurs like this senator who was born in tondo, manila. He knows our mentality on engaging in business... w/c is we are not very good at it!... and he's the only one candidate who can drive, guide, inspire and encourage us on this matter to be business oriented, vision minded in this field through his set example on his remarkable life achivements and vision...and more so a true genuine Filipino w/ patriotism and determination to better our country thus improve the quality of life of our people... We need more like him!
